PIONEER LODGE EXPANSION PROJECT

The Pioneer Lodge is expanding! Over the last 5 years wait times for our local extended care facilities has increased, the number of beds for seniors requiring extra care has diminished and the available accommodations affordable to seniors has diminished. But not for long… Construction for the new wing, Pioneer House, began in the fall of 2015 and will help meet the needs of our seniors and community members needing extended care.

Pioneer Lodge is an affordable living facility that currently provides ‘level 2’ care and housing to 139 seniors in the Lloydminster Region with a 61 person waiting list. It was originally built in 1960 and is home to residents from all over the area, including rural Alberta and Saskatchewan. The Pioneer House will not only create 44 additional beds; it will also include an increased level of care for the residents, as healthcare aides will now be on site during all hours. This  new stand-alone facility will also feature lounges, dining halls, bathing spas, and staff work rooms to ensure all senior residents receive first class continuing care. The expansion is being led by the Alberta government through three grants totaling approximately $14 Million dollars. These dollars were made available to our community in order to answer a call for increased space and level of care available in our region.

HOW YOUR DONATION WILL HELP

Your support on this final stage of the Pioneer House will get the doors open! The final provincial grant is contingent on our community raising $2 Million dollars to capture those funds, as the total project cost is slightly more than $16 Million dollars. This is where we need your help. To date we have been successful in raising just over $900,000 local dollars, and your donation will help complete this vital project for continuing care in our community. Your donation means 44 seniors  can move in and begin receiving the care they need.

HELP US BUILD THE PIONEER HOUSE BRICK BY BRICK

The Pioneer House Brick by Brick campaign is our newest fundraiser aimed to raise the funds needed to complete the Pioneer House Project. This public campaign gives community members across the region an opportunity to get involved. Once completed the Pioneer House will display a special donor wall showing the many gifts received to support the expansion. Recognition levels are based on donation levels with the following opportunities available:

$250 Plus – You will receive your name or someone’s that you honour on a leaf within the donor wall.

$500 Plus – You will receive your name or someone’s that you honour on a half brick within the donor wall, along with a half brick commemorative block keepsake.

$1000 Plus – You will receive your name or someone’s that you honour on a full brick within the donor wall, along with a brick commemorative block keepsake.
